DREAM BEDROOM MAKEOVER ON A BUDGET
Looking for a highly engaging, low-prep math PBL activity that gives your students the chance to practice real-world skills while flexing their creativity? This Dream Bedroom Makeover on a Budget is the perfect project-based learning experience for upper-elementary and middle-school math students in grades 6–8.
Students are challenged to redesign their dream bedroom within a fixed budget while applying essential math concepts such as multiplying and dividing decimals, calculating percent discounts, and adding sales tax. With two price list options (regular and simplified), this activity supports differentiated instruction and is ideal for secondary learners and Tier 2/3 support.
Students will plan, calculate, and reflect—then sketch their new room on a graph layout sheet to complete their makeover vision!
